The purpose of this module is to provide the required drive current to the motor of the front loading mechanism, which takes care that the disc is positioned at the correct place in the player. Control signals are fed in from the drive processor module R and status signals are fed back to the drive processor.
The two built-in micro-switches are configured as NO (Normally Open). The switches support a NC configuration (Normally Closed), but the required pin is not connected on the module. The switches are 45 degrees from the edge of the board and extend 6mm from the PCB edge (2mm when fully depressed).
